Calonge is a village in the municipality of Santanyí with a square, a church and a Thursday market on Plaça Sant Miquel. It is quiet all year, with a pharmacy, a bakery, bars and a couple of restaurants; for larger supermarkets and doctors, Cala d'Or is six minutes away, Santanyí eleven and Felanitx eighteen. The east-coast coves, such as Cala Gran, Cala Esmeralda and Cala Ferrera, are very close.
Supply is limited: village houses, some with courtyards and others needing renovation, detached homes on the edges of the village and fincas along the lanes towards Cala d'Or and Felanitx. Plots and land also come up, so be clear whether you want a finished house or a project.

Calonge works as a quiet base with Cala d'Or six minutes away for the big supermarket, the doctor, restaurants and the marina. Drive that route at the time you normally would and check where you park at each end.
Many Calonge houses are old and have seen little renovation. Check the roof and beams, damp in ground-floor walls, the wiring and whether the courtyard has a rear exit or a well. Ask when the last works were done and, if there are extensions, confirm they are recorded in the cadastre.
If you want views from a hillside, compare with S'Alqueria Blanca. If you want to hear the sea, Portopetro is a few minutes away, at coastal prices. Calonge wins on calm, plot size and price compared with the seafront.
